ok, I think you have a lurker on your blog :) what's up with that message, huh? I wanted to ask if you knew how to cure your molcajate? I have one and have never used it because I don't know how to do it. let me know.
Yeah, I don't know who that person was - kinda freaky :S
Anyhow - mi Abuelita did tell me how to cure a molcajete. You need to buy dried homily (the kind you put into menudo) and just grind it down to a powder. I guess the homily is tough enough to get all the impurities out, then you need to scrub it with a hard bristle brush and rinse until the water is nice and clear.
I've always been a overly ambitious; some might even call it “compulsive” when it comes to craft projects. Whether it involves cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening -- you name it. I have a real determination to keep busy. I hope you enjoy reading about my ambitious endeavors (sometimes they’re a success, other times its an absolute failure)!

This chick also has some pretty good advice:

between your molcajete and your garden I bet you make some pretty delicious salsa! next time we're in town we're coming over!
Anytime, mi casa es su casa :D
oh, i missed the lurker comment. dang. the molcajete needs more than one curing, otherwise you end up chewing gravel/rocks with your delicious salsas.
thanks for the tips...I'll have to test it out during my break from school. I'll let you know how it goes.
